The Sedona Muses will welcome Gwenn Gallenstein, Museum Curator for the Flagstaff Area National Monuments and National Park Service Collections Liaison to speak at their meeting on December 7th at 9:30am at the Sedona Methodist Church, located at the Rte 179 and Back of Beyond intersection. Gallenstein received her Master’s Degree in Anthropology from Northern Arizona University and is now working on her Doctoral Dissertation. Her topic, “Remorseful Returns: Artifacts Illegally Removed From National Parks Service Units” will be the focus of her program, and should be informative as well as entertaining. The Sedona Muses meet monthly, bringing the resources and spirit of the Museum of Northern Arizona, Flagstaff, to Sedona and the Verde Valley. The Muses offer programs featuring outstanding speakers focusing on the natural history, Native American cultures, and wonders of the Colorado Plateau. In addition, they, with the Museum, sponsor a Winter Lecture series in January through April. Programs are always open to the public and visitors will be warmly welcomed.
