Anthony Alejandro, chef de cuisine at Cliff Castle Casino’s Storyteller’s Steakhouse, has been awarded a bronze medal in the “Beef Tenderloin Category” at the 2001 State Culinary Competition hosted by the American Culinary Federation.
Alejandro was honored for preparing a seared beef tenderloin entrée and accompaniments with garnishes, during a one-hour competition. During this statewide competition, close to 50 chefs participated in a variety of categories. Several of the competing chefs represented the greater Phoenix area and the dishes were judged by master chefs throughout the United States.
“I have participated in the AFC Culinary Competition in Phoenix during the past three years,” said Chef Anthony Alejandro. “I feel honored to be among so many well-respected chefs and hope to come back next year and win another medal.”
Alejandro is a graduate of the Scottsdale Culinary Institute whose awards include the top honor at the Chef’s of the West Cake Competition and a bronze medal at the 1999 and 2000 ACF Culinary Competition.
Alejandro joined Cliff Castle Casino in November 1999 as chef de cuisine for Storyteller’s Steakhouse where he produces a ‘surf and turf’ oriented menu with a unique flair.
Alejandro’s culinary experience includes work for Paradise Valley Country Club in Phoenix and Westin Hotels.
