Patrick H. O’Brien
Patrick H. O’Brien, Cottonwood, died Jan. 4. He was 72.
Mr. O’Brien was born in Madison, Wis. in 1928 and was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin.
Mr. O’Brien was a retired real estate broker. He was a former president of the Jerome/Clarkdale Council of the Knights of Columbus and Verde Village Property Owner’s Association. He was also a former president of the Middleton Optimists and served on the board of supervisors for Dane County, Wis.
Mr. O’Brien is survived by his loving companion Gerry Provencal, Cottonwood; three daughters, Lori Malicki, and her husband James, Middleton, Wis., Christine Boys and her husband Todd, St Paul, Minn., and Lisa O’Brien, Sauk City, Wis.; a sister, Gloria O’Brien of Wisconsin; a brother, Jim O’Brien of Milwaukee; an uncle, John Heim of Wisconsin and three grandchildren, Michelle Malicki, La Crosse, Wis., and Joseph and Kathryn Boys, St. Paul, Minn.
A memorial mass will be held Jan. 9 at 1 p.m. at St. Cecilia’s Mission Church in Clarkdale.

Lucille ‘Cile’ Sumner
Colorado homemaker Lucille Sumner died Jan. 2.
She was 84 years old.
Mrs. Sumner was born Lucille Barnhart May 2, 1916 in Peoria, Ill.
A small family service was held Jan 6 at Lakewood United Church of Christ followed by interment at the Church of the Red Rocks in Sedona.
Mrs. Sumner was a member of Lakewood United Church of Christ and chapter FK of PEO.
Survivors include three sons, James of Illinois, Robert and Steve of Colorado; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Winston H. Sumner preceded her in death.
Memorials may be made in Mrs. Sumner’s name to Lakewood United Church of Christ, building fund, 100 Carr, Lakewood, Colo. 80226.
Elsie Vivian Richards
Cottonwood resident Elsie Richards died Jan. 6.
She was 75 years old.
Mrs. Richards was born Sept. 18, 1925 in Marion, Ohio.
She attended the First Assembly of God Church in Camp Verde and is remembered as a loving mother.
Survivors include four daughters, Debra Sue Richards of Cottonwood, Victoria Bray and Betty Slack of Oregon, and Theresa Duckworth of California; two sons, Arlie John Richards of Texas and Daniel Richards of Phoenix; three sisters, Mary Katherine Definney and Dorothy Stiffler of Ohio and Thelma Holmes of Florida, ten grandchildren and her former husband, Arlie Richards.
Two sons, Leonard Lee and William Richards preceded Mrs. Richards in death.
Funeral services were held Jan. 11 at the First Assembly of God Church in Camp Verde. Burial followed in Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale.
Camp Verde resident Patricia Keitz died Jan. 7.
She was 79 years old.
Mrs. Keitz was born Sept. 13, 1921 in Kalamazoo, Mich.
She was a retired nurse.
Survivors include a son, Mark Keitz of Camp Verde and James Keitz of Michigan; a brother, Carl Spier of Florida; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
