After seven years, Julie Hibbard will be leaving the Camp Verde Unified School District.
The elementary school principal offered her resignation to the board during its retreat over the weekend. She will be moving to the East Valley, where her husband is the principal of the new Higley High School.
Her resignation becomes effective at the end of this school year. Superintendent Marilyn Semones said the board was aware of the pending resignation but were not sure when it would come about.
In her letter, Hibbard stated that her husband has been commuting to his new job so she could remain during the move into the recently finished Camp Verde Elementary. Higley High opens to students next school year.
Semones said the board appreciated Hibbard turning in the letter of resignation early enough that a search for a new principal can begin quickly.
