Diamondbacks training centers coming to Verde Valley

Arizona Diamondbacks Training Centers will make two stops in the Verde Valley later this summer.

One camp will be held at Butler Park in Camp Verde on July 23-27 (6:30-9:30 p.m. each night). The other will be held at Cottonwood Middle School on July 30-Aug. 3 (8-11:30 a.m. each day).

The weeklong baseball camp is for ages 7-14 with curriculum endorsed by the Diamondbacks baseball staff and matched to the age and skill level of the student. Instructors are handpicked by the organization to teach the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, throwing, base running and specific position play.

The camp sizes are limited, and the instructor-to-student ratios are monitored for hands-on learning.

Registration is $150 for either local session and includes a Diamondbacks Training Centers T-shirt, cap, bag and two tickets to a Diamondbacks home game. Proceeds benefit the Arizona Diamondbacks Charities Youth Baseball Fund.

For more information or to register, call 1-800-821-7152. Camp Verde players can pick up a registration form in the Camp Verde Parks and Recreation Department on the corner of Main and Hollamon streets.
