Cottonwood police and members of the Prescott Area Narcotics Taskforce combined to make a significant drug arrest early Thursday.
Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding near the intersection of Arizona 260 and Ogden Ranch Road and noticed a marijuana pipe in the vehicle. It was also determined that Ricardo Diez, a passenger in the car, had an outstanding probation warrant.
Upon further search of the vehicle, two peanut butter jars containing five plastic bundles of cocaine weighing approximately four ounces were discovered.
The driver of the vehicle, Conrado Amaya, was arrested and charged along with Diez for possession of dangerous drugs and paraphernalia. Both were booked into the Yavapai County Jail.
