Marshall to be acting superintendent

According to School Board President Irene Peoble, the board appointed Camp Verde High School Principal Steve Marshall as acting school superintendent. The board met Friday evening. She said they agreed that it was important to have someone in the top administrative position until an interim or permanent superintendent is hired.

Marshall apparently was the only one who stepped forward to temporarily fill the role vacated by Marilyn Semones. Semones submitted her resignation, with a remaining two years on her contract, to the board on April 25. Her official last day was May 3.

Prior to his arrival in Camp Verde, Marshall was a school superintendent at Gila Bend.

At Friday's school board meeting, members also discussed goals and visions, "what we want the superintendent's and board's direction to go in," Peoble explained. The board has begun its search for a new superintendent.
