District, Town continue sewer expansion talks

Camp Verde Sanitary District Chair Suzy Burnside, Town Manager Bill Lee (center) and CVSD Secretary Stan Bullard discuss a proposed intergovernmental agreement during the district's Nov. 29 special board meeting. The IGA between the town and district and whether or not the district would award or reject Contracts 1 and 2 (pipeline installation) for the 2001 CVSD Wastewater Treatment Plant and Expansion Project were included on the agenda.

Because the draft IGA document was not ready until early Monday morning, Burnside indicated that there had not been adequate time for review. Officials agreed to take what suggestions they had made during the meeting with input from town officials back to their prospective attorneys for further revision, and they tabled the bid discussion. Contractors have agreed to extend their bids until the end of the week, according to Burnside.

The district will hold another meeting on Friday, Dec. 3, 4:30 p.m., at district headquarters, when resolution to the issue is expected.
