Camp Verde Sanitary District Vice Chair George Young announced during a recent council session that the district is about to go to bid. It's been a long, arduous task for the sewer board and staff as it continues plans to update the district's plant and extend sewer service to include Interstate 17-Arizona 260 businesses as well as several residential areas.
Construction should start this fall.
"We believe we can put our plans and specs with plan services no later than June 30. The advertising for bids will appear July 23. The pre-bid meeting is Aug. 13, and a board meeting is scheduled for Aug. 23 to open, examine and publicly declare the bids," confirmed Chair Suzy Burnside. "We passed a resolution ordering the improvement inviting sealed bids from any person interested in the improvement."
Burnside said they held a work meeting last week with legal counsel and the lenders to discuss the methodology and administrative details necessary before starting the backhoes.
On May 24, the lender approved to proceed with the advertisement for bids, she said.
CVSD continues working on details involved in the land purchase from the U.S. Forest Service for its new plant along Arizona 260.
