"We've started a collection of romance novels [paperbacks], and we have a new data base for teens, 'Authors 4 Teens' where teens can get their favorite author information," Director Gerry Laurito said.
New hours include an earlier opening every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 8:30 a.m. instead of the usual 9 a.m. beginning March 30.
The five-year strategic plan was recently approved by both the library commission and the council. Laurito explains its importance.
"It's a strategic plan of what we want to do over the next five years. Basically, it will justify the new building and other things we request over that time period," he said. "The Town Council just approved zoning for the Verde Cliffs project taking us another step closer to a site for the new library. The developers have committed five acres out of the development for a library site."
The Library Endowment group is once again sponsoring the Denim and Lace Dinner/Auction, its annual fundraiser, to be held April 3. Tickets can be purchased for $25 each from any library endowment member or Laurito. The event includes dinner, entertainment and a silent-and-live auction.
The dates for the semi-annual book sale have been announced for this year as April 23-24 (Friday and Saturday). On an ongoing basis, library goers will find additional "books for sale" located on a shelf near the front door.
A "Water Awareness" display is currently showcased at the CV Library featuring coalition artwork and books on water.
