Yavapai County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) reports that deputies have arrested a Bridgeport man for his suspected involvement in area burglaries.
According to a police report, deputies arrested James Robert Foster Jr., 36, of Bridgeport on April 1, after deputies responded to a report of a stolen washing machine and dryer from a construction area.
Deputies were dispatched to a construction site located at Verde Santa Fe on Cornville Road and were allegedly informed of a prior theft at the same location.
YCSO reports that witness alleged sighting the stolen property in Bridgeport and that witnesses also informed deputies that a truck belonging to Foster was observed driving though the construction site.
According to the report, deputies conducted an extensive investigation at the location in Bridgeport and searched the property on Kelli Lane where they allegedly discovered tools, tool boxes, saws, drills and various other construction items, as well as drug paraphernalia.
Deputies allege further, that the stolen washing machine and dryer were also located at this location and were still in their factory boxes.
The report states that contact was made with the tenant, identified as Gene Michael Galloway, 33, who allegedly admitted to taking the washer and dryer and told deputies that he had purchased the rest of the items from Foster and had suspected they were stolen.
The items recovered, deputies say, include a Polaris quad vehicle that had been reported stolen from Coconino County and dated to thefts reported as far back at 1998.
Deputies report that Foster has an active arrest warrant alleging probation violation in connection with other burglaries.
Deputies report that Foster was arrested and faces charges of trafficking in stolen items and probation violation.
