Thelma V. Pritchard

Thelma Vivian Pritchard, 92, of Cottonwood, died July 26. She was born Feb. 28, 1913, in Silver City, N.M.

She was a graduate of San Diego Bible College An ordained Assembly of God minister for 70 years, she was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Mrs. Pritchard started many Native American churches in Arizona including Guadelupe, New River and Middle Verde.

She and her late husband owned Cactus Riding Stables of Phoenix.

Mrs. Pritchard was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, James T. "J.T." Pritchard and her two sons, Jim Pritchard and Larry "Cotton" Pritchard.

She leaves a daughter-in-law, Ann Pritchard of Cornville; nine grandchildren, Cindy Henning of Decorah, Iowa, Larry Wayne Pritchard of Cottonwood, Brenda Zolman of Cornville, James Lowell Pritchard of Decorah, Iowa, Thomas Glenn Pritchard of Prescott, Edward Dean Pritchard of Mesa, Stephen Kelley Pritchard of Prescott Valley, Bryan Russell Pritchard of Lake Montezuma and Amy Courtney Malloy of Cornville; 24 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on today, July 29, in the First Assembly of God Church, 750 E. Mingus Ave., Cottonwood, at 9 a.m.

Lloyd W. Johnson

Lloyd Wendell Johnson, 81, of Glendale, died July 22. He was born May 6, 1924, in Youngstown, Ohio.

He was a World War II veteran of the Navy.

Mr. Johnson was a graduate of Boardman High School, and a graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology.

He was a retired insurance agent. He enjoyed wood carving.

His wife of 50 years, Mae V. Johnson, preceded him in death.

He leaves a daughter, Wendy L. Johnson of Scottsdale; two granddaughter, Kristine Beecher and Joanne Underwood; and two great-grandchildren, Angel and Aaron.

There are no public services planned.
