Katherine M. Lloyd
Katherine Marcella Lloyd died May 29, 2005, in Cottonwood, after a long illness with Parkinson's disease. She was born in Illinois on Feb. 14, 1924, and married Marshall L. Eshleman there. The couple later moved to Phoenix and resided there for some time. Marshall died in 1980. Their only daughter died in 1979.
After Marshall's death, Katherine married Joseph D. Lloyd Jr., who died in 1990.
Katherine was employed by the U.S. Geological Survey in Flagstaff and later by the U.S. Forest Service in Camp Verde. She retired in Cottonwood, where she lived until her death.
Survivors are a son-in-law, Dean Cook, of Flagstaff, and Linda Killman, of Camp Verde, a stepdaughter.
Katherine was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, Cottonwood, and a memorial service will be June 16 at 10 a.m. for her at the church. The church is located at 1020 Camino Real, Cottonwood.
Mardele C. Davis
Mardele Claire Davis, 73, of Camp Verde, devoted mother and grandmother, died May 31, 2005. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Mitch Davis.
Mardele was born in Duluth, Minn., on Jan. 8, 1932, to Eva Pearl and Everett Carlson.
She moved to Phoenix as a teenager and graduated from North High School. Mardele and Mitch lived in the Valley until moving to Camp Verde in 2002 to be close to family. She enjoyed her family and making new friends in the Verde Valley area.
Mardele was active in the Camp Verde Women's Book Club and was recently appointed as a board member of the Camp Verde Library Commission.
She will be greatly missed by her mother, Eve Releford, of Cottonwood, daughter and son-in-law Shawn and Bill Bicker of Thornton, Colo.; son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Debbie Davis, of Camp Verde, son Kent Davis, of Phoenix, 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be today, June 5, at 2 p.m. at the Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Avenue, Cottonwood. The Davis Family has requested that memorial donations in lieu of flowers be sent to the Camp Verde Library, P.O. Box 566, Camp Verde AZ 86322 or to the charity of your choice.
Ignacio Ochoa Rodriguez
Ignacio (Nacho) Ochoa Rodriguez, 61, died in the Verde Valley on May 31. He was born May 5, 1944, in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico.
In 1967, Rodriguez came to Winslow where he started a family. He worked for Duke City Lumber Mill for more than 20 years. He moved to the Verde Valley in 1995 where he spent his remaining years. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family.
He is survived by son Daniel Ochoa and family, son Joseph Ochoa and wife Dolores, children Briana and Miguel, daughter Yvonne Rechy and family.
Rodriguez is preceded in death by his father Ignacio Ochoa-Diaz and mother Conrada Rodriguez de Ochoa.
Services will be held at Madre de Dios in Winslow. A rosary will be held June 6 at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. June 7 with a luncheon to follow at St. Francis Hall.
