Ruth S. Caldwell

Ruth S. Caldwell, 95, of Sedona, died Sept. 26. She was born Dec. 14, 1909, in Oakland, Calif., to Frank and Etta Sebrean.

She attended school in Oakland, Calif. Before her retirement, she was a real estate agent for 20 years. She previously worked in the personnel department at Douglas Aircraft for six years.

A member of the First Presbyterian Church, she enjoyed ceramics and rug making. Sedona has been her home for the last 17 years.

Her husband Kenneth Caldwell preceded her in death.

She leaves a daughter, Ellene McDermid of Red Bluff, Calif.; a sister, Gwalda Conroy; a grandson, Gary Oakes and great-grandchildren, Rachel and Jason Oakes.

Robert D. Peel

Robert Dean Peel, 85, of Clarkdale, died Sept. 12. He was born March 12, 1920, in Radnor, Ohio.

He was a Coast Guard veteran where he served as a mechanic.

A graduate of Athens University, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio University and his Ph.D. from Ohio State University.

Dr. Peel was a retired regional manager of agricultural research for Campbell's Soup Company.

He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks. A passionate supporter of animal rights issues, he was also an avid reader, outdoorsman and had an insatiable thirst for knowledge.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha M. Peel; sons, Rick Peel of Cottonwood and Bob Peel of Nacogdoches, Texas; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, in the Westcott Funeral Home.

Keath E. Campos

Keath E. Campos, 33, of Cottonwood, died Sept. 14, 2005, with his family by his side. He was born May 26, 1972, in Los Angeles.

Keath is survived by his beloved children, Laina M. Campos, Adrian M. Campos and Maiah N. Dalton, all of Cottonwood; parents, Charles and Rita Campos of Cottonwood; brothers, Robert Campos and Daniel Campos both of Cottonwood, and Kenneth Campos of Ramona, Calif.; aunt Josephine Gerber of Huntington Beach, Calif.; uncle Ray Estrada of Las Vegas, Nev.; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Campos Jr.

Keath was a special part of his loving family. He had many friends and will truly be missed by everyone who knew him. A memorial will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m. at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood.
