Jeanne E. Dippold

Jeanne Elizabeth Dippold died Dec. 27, 2005, with her family by her side. She was born March 9, 1923, in Hickory, N.C., to Essie Mae and DeMos DeLane.

Jeanne and her husband were residents of Decatur, Ill., for 16 years, where they were avid boating and water sports enthusiasts.

They moved to Elmhurst, Ill., in 1962 where they lived until 1988, after which they moved to Rimrock.

Jeanne was a graduate of Lenoir Rhyne College in Hickory, N.C. She was active in the Lutheran Church. She was involved with her children and their school activities including the PTA. She was an election judge for many years in Illinois.

She loved animals, especially dogs.

Her favorite pastime, to the delight of all who knew her, especially family, was her love of baking cookies, pies, cakes and most of all her homemade bread.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Mrs. Susan Martin, Mrs. Ann Boyd, Mrs. Nell Smith, Mrs. Rebecca Carew, Mrs. Louise Latta, and brother John DeLane.

Jeanne is survived by her husband Milton W. Dippold whom she married in 1946, her three children, daughter Jane Moore of Jerome, sons Charles Dippold of Rimrock, and John Dippold of Rimrock.

A private service was held at Bueler-Hepler Funeral Home with Rev. John Jenkins oficiating. Bueler-Hepler Funeral Home assisted the family.

Kristina M. Thompson

Kristina Mae Thompson, 56, died Dec. 29, 2005. She was born to Howard and Shirley Thompson on Oct. 24, 1949, in Bandon, Ore.

She graduated from Bandon High School in 1967 with honors and graduated Northwest Bible College in Kirkland, Wash., in 1972. She then assisted Doris Fellows as a missionary 1972-75. Through the years 1976-80 she was a banker, bookkeeper, and teacher. In 1989 she was head secretary during the Valdez oil spill working with the lawyers and the CEOs. In 1990 she moved to Arizona and started working for the Joyce Hearing Aid Company, which later became Ron's Hearing Aid Company. She worked there until November 2005.

She started teaching Sunday School and Bible studies at age 13 and continued until 2005. She was an active and loved member of Emmanuel Fellowship.

She is survived by mother Shirley Thompson and brothers Howard and Wayne Thompson and sister Shirley Buice. She was a beloved aunt of 11 nephews, nieces, and 10 great nieces.

Services will be held on Jan. 3 at Emmanuel Fellowship, 1580 E. Fir St, Cottonwood.

Richard "Pat" Patterson

Richard "Pat" Patterson, 79, of Camp Verde, died Dec. 28, 2005. He was born Sept. 25, 1926, in Globe, where he grew up.

He graduated from Globe High School, and he attended the University of Arizona.

Richard was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1946 following service in World War II. In July 1947 he married his sweetheart for life, Colleen Jones.

He retired from El Paso Natural Gas Company in 1981 after 34 years, and then he co-founded Accurate Corrosion Control in Phoenix.

Richard is survived by his wife of 58 years, Colleen; his children Kay (husband Rick) and Alan (wife Stevie); grandchildren, Kelly, Brian, Heather, Lianne and James; as well as eight great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Jan. 14 at 11 a.m. at Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Ave., in Cottonwood.

Norman Hopkins

Norman Hopkins, 85, of Grants Pass, Ore., died Dec. 8, 2005. He was born Dec. 21, 1920, in Detroit, Mich.

He moved from Cottonwood to Grants Pass 20 years ago.

He was a member of the Scottish Rite of freemasonry, was a 32nd-degree Mason and past Grand Master.

Survivors include his wife H. Marilla Hopkins, of Grants Pass, Ore.; and a son, Kent Hopkins, of Phoenix.

A memorial service will be Jan. 7 at noon at he Masonic Lodge in Grants Pass.

Gayle A. Stewart

Gayle Ann Stewart, 51, of Cottonwood, died Dec. 26, 2005. She was born Sept. 30, 1954, in Boisie, Idaho.

She attended Yuma High School. A housekeeper, she was previously a waitress and cook.

Survivors include son Charlie Gynn Hice Jr.; daughter Liberty Ann Turnipseed; brother Richard Brose; sisters Mara Gene Sturgeon and Rebecca Stewart; and grandchildren Logan, Kaitlin, Jacob and Isaac Hice, and Matthew, Zachary and Daniel Turnipseed.

A funeral service will be Jan. 3 at 3 p.m. at the Cottonwood Assembly of God, 750 Mingus Ave.
