Rev. James H. Cunningham

The Rev. James Harold Cunningham, 70, died Oct. 26, 2006, in Cottonwood. He was born June 25, 1936, in Sweetser, Ind., the son of Dalton Harold and Rhoda Isabel (Fisher) Cunningham.

Cunningham (affectionately known as Pastor C) was a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ for 30 years for the Church of the Nazarene in Wyoming, Idaho and Arizona. He spent his life doing what he loved the most, pointing people to the truth of the Holy Scriptures and salvation in Jesus Christ. He loved being outdoors, hunting, camping, boating and hiking with family members and friends.

He is survive by his wife Judith L.; daughters Cynthia Lynne Wiederholt and Deborah Dianne Johnson; son James Harold Jr.; sisters Janice Vargas and Bonnie Wilson; brothers John Cunningham and Dennis Cunningham; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial celebration service in honor of Jim will be Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. at the Verde Valley Church of the Nazarene, on Arizona 260 in Cottonwood.

The family of Pastor C suggests memorials in his memory be made to Samaritans Purse or Nazarene Compassionate Ministries.
