Cruise Night revs interest in classic, custom cars

Members of the Veteran Motor Car Club of America (VMCCA) Central Arizona Chapter gathered Aug. 26 at Jerona Gallery & Gifts in Cottonwood for its second Cruise Night of the season. Sedona Car Club members also joined the festivities, which included food, popcorn and recorded music by Nick Hunseder of Nick of Time Productions. Song selections included favorites from the '50s and '60s and had a car theme (Little Deuce Coupe, Mustang Sally).

Between 40 and 50 classic and custom cars and trucks were on display, attracting about 100 auto aficionados.

Cruise Nights will continue monthly every second Friday and every fourth Saturday until winter. The next gathering is Sept. 8, 5-9 p.m., at Hog Wild Restaurant, 705 N. Main St., in Old Town Cottonwood. One car will be named best of show and the owner of Hog Wild has donated a gift certificate to the winner.

Jerona Gallery & Gifts, 677 E. Mingus Ave., in Cottonwood will host Cruise Night on Sept. 23, 5-8 p.m. Both venues offer discounts on food to those displaying cars.

Everyone is invited to come and enjoy these free social events. All car enthusiasts are encouraged to stop by and bring your own custom wheels for all to admire. For details, call Don at 646-3482.
