Mary Theresa MacMaster, 70, of Cottonwood, died peacefully at home on Thursday evening, April 26, 2007. She was born Nov. 15, 1936, in Detroit, Mich.
She was one of triplets born to John Michael and Catherine (Maloney) O'Dowd, both originally from Ireland. Mary worked and retired as a licensed practical nurse. She took her retirement from the Oakwood Hospital in Michigan.
She was a lifelong Catholic, and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. She was devoted to her faith and to her family. Mary was very proud of her Irish heritage, and over the years, she would visit Ireland-learning more of her heritage and keeping in touch with her family members.
Mary leaves behind her devoted husband of 39 years, Charles "Bernie" MacMaster of Cottonwood; her brother, Patrick O'Dowd; and her sisters, Margaret King and Eileen Schott, all three of Michigan.
A Memorial Mass will be at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 2, the Rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the Mass to follow at 11 a.m. Mary will be laid to rest at the All Souls Cemetery at a later date.
