John W. Arp

John W. Arp, 72, died Dec. 18, 2007, in Tennessee.

John was a U.S. veteran with retirement from the National Guard. He also had a long career as a career counselor and helped thousands of people regain their confidence by helping them "think outside of the box."

At 65, John became an artist, won awards for his paintings and opened a gallery in Cottonwood with his wife Sarah. His adventurous nature was only exceeded by his caring for animals, friends and family.

John leaves behind a loving wife, Sarah Sullivan Arp and three children, Vickie Arp Randoll, Cookeville, Tenn., Tari Hughes, Cleveland, Okla., and John Arp of Minnesota.

John is also survived by his brother, Fred Arp. He will be missed by 18 loving grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many friends and family. His six step-sons, Jim, Richard, Larry, Victor, William and Andy cared for him deeply.

Services will be held in Tennessee and Arizona. A Celebration of Life service and reception will be held Jan. 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Cottonwood at the Cassatt residence, 920 S. 12th.
