Helen Bertha Cullen, 85, died May 17 in Mesa.
A funeral mass was held on May 21 in Mesa and another will be at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Goodridge, Minn., at 9:30 a.m., Monday July 16, 2007. Interment will follow at Poplar Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Cullen was born Jan. 18, 1922, in Anaheim, Saskatchewan, the daughter of Napoleon and Hazel (Decilles) Bruneau. Helen married Peter Cullen of Goodridge, Minn., on May 8, 1946. In 1972, they moved to Mesa. At retirement in 1986, Helen and Peter moved to Camp Verde, where they lived until returning to Mesa in 2005. While living in Camp Verde, Helen loved attending daily mass and volunteering at the church.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Peter Claude Cullen, Mesa; children Jim Cullen, Las Vegas, Jerry (Theresa) Cullen, Coon Rapids, Minn., Sheila (Reino) Hendrickson, Osage, Minn., Barb Cullen, Mankato, Minn., Donna Cullen, St. Paul, Minn., Dan (Sue) Cullen, Little Canada, Minn., Ed Cullen, Stillwater, Minn., Larry Cullen, Stillwater, Minn., Steve Cullen, Henderson, Nev., Cathy Doll, Mesa, and Theresa Cullen, Glendale, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, siblings Marie Hanson, Issaquah, Wash., Lucille Bruneau, Phoenix, Terry (Walter) Franke, Chandler, Margaret (Bill) Watts, Prescott, Hazel Hanson, Las Vegas, Gene Bruneau, Pahrump, Nev., and Ann (Roger) Brackney, Lake Montezuma.
She was preceded in death by infant daughter, Mary, her parents, and her brothers Larry, Vernon, Tom, Joe, Norman, and Edward Bruneau.
