Donald Edwin Ohlwiler, 74, of Cottonwood, was born in Clemenceau (now Cottonwood) June 6, 1931, the son of Earl C. and Stella (Babcock) Ohlwiler.
He attended all of his schooling through high school in Cottonwood. He retired from Phoenix Cement Company.
He owned race horses that raced at tracks in Flagstaff and Prescott, his favorite horse was "Wag's. He was a member of the Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed entertaining friends, dancing, RVing, horse back riding and camping.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Rose Boban.
Mr. Ohlwiler is survived by his wife of 10 years, Barbara "Bobbie"; sons, Frank of Cottonwood, Kenneth of Dallas, and stepson Brant Lawrence of Boise, Idaho; stepdaughters, Natalie Gaugler of Lemmon, S.D., Rita Steele and Stella Wolsey of Kingman; a brother, William "Bill" of Cottonwood; a sister, Earlene, of Phoenix; one grandaughter, 15 step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held today in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Cottonwood Cemetery. VFW Post 7400 will provide military honors.
