Verde Valley Fair gets better every year
The 41st Verde Valley Fair has come and gone, growing bigger and better each year. And, so I say thank you to a very small, but dedicated group of individuals that continue to give unselfishly of their time and talents to ensure that this yearly event takes place.
That group of individuals is the Verde Valley Fair Association. These nine individuals consisting of David Williams, Rick Miller, Vern Johnson, Christine Barag, Rodney Fielitz, Joe Moore, Kim Moore, Terra Shanks, and Mary Valenzuela work unselfishly, many of them giving up their own personal vacation days from their jobs and many long hours for weeks before, during and after the Fair to make this event the best possible.
Another small group that also puts in too many hours to be counted is the Fair Association's Executive Board made up of Steve Dockray, Steven Renard, Steve Page, Terry Sullivan and Bobby Valenzuela. It is this group of individuals that spearheads the direction of events throughout the year and works passionately to maintain the Fairgrounds for continued community use. I also thank them for their dedicated service.
Lastly I say thank you to Linda Harrison, Fair Manager, and her very small staff. The hours they put in beyond their scheduled work days is enormous. The number of events they bring to the Fairgrounds and the people that are drawn to our community each month continues to expand.
I am very proud to know these individuals and have witnessed the strong work ethic and pride that each of them demonstrates through their volunteerism to the Fair Association and this community. Thank you all for a job well done!
