Rainbow Acres' president receives merit award

Rainbow Acres' President and CEO Gary Wagner was recently honored by American Baptist Homes and Caring Ministries (ABHCM) during the 100th anniversary celebration of American Baptist Churches.

Wagner received a prestigious Merit Citation Award for achievements and service in a Specialized Service organization. The award was presented by Dr. Patrick Pang, Rainbow's senior vice president for Advancement & Church Relations.

"It has been my privilege to serve with Gary those who are "overlooked and ignored," Pang said. "Gary's excellent leadership has produced efficacious results-brand new homes, with semi-independent apartments and a community center in the works... all to improve the quality of life for the Ranchers (residents) and for the glory of God."

Among those in attendance as Wagner received his award were representatives from his alma maters the University of Sioux Falls and Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School, Rainbow Board members Claudia Ault and her husband George and Rev. Carmen Porco and his wife May, Wagner's wife Jussara and their son Isaac, and various American Baptist denominational leaders from across the county.

Rainbow Acres is located in Camp Verde, and is a non-profit, faith-based, assisted living facility for adults with developmental disabilities. For additional information, call (928) 567-5231, or visit www.rainbowacres.com.
