Juan B. Jiron 1920 - 2007

Juan B. Jiron, 87, died Oct. 11, 2007, in Flagstaff.  He was born in San Juan, N.M., and resided in Flagstaff for 57 years.

He was a World War II veteran and was very proud to have served his country.  He was a major Diamondbacks fan, enjoyed playing pool, fishing at Lake Mary and reading his Bible.

He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, storytelling and devotion to his family.  

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Benita, his 11 children; Leroy (Dorothy) Jiron, of Flagstaff, Lasso (Joy) Jiron, of Flagstaff, Dolores (Rudy) Aleman of Phoenix, Jerry Jiron of Phoenix, Julia (Antonio) Barrios of Phoenix, Isabelle (Gary) Gresham of Cottonwood, Cicilia Lucero, of Cottonwood, Grace Jiron, of Flagstaff, Gloria (Lew) Argetsinger, of Flagstaff, and Juan Jr. (JoAnn) Jiron of Flagstaff, 45 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters Dora Tapia-Amezcua, of Phoenix, and Elosia Medina of Phoenix.

A visitation will be held Monday evening, Oct. 15, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at The Rock Full Gospel Church, 5200 E. Cortland Blvd., Suite A-14.  Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m.
