VACTE District to revise budget

The Valley Academy for Career and Technology Education Governing Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday. The meeting will open with a public hearing for discussion of a budget revision.

Immediately following the public hearing, the board will convene its regularly scheduled meeting. Beside routine reports and policy revisions, the main agenda items will be the swearing in of new board members and discussion and possible action on a budget revision.

Celeste Ziemkowski, business manager, said Friday morning that the budget must be revised because the board had to submit its budget on deadline by July 15. "During that time you still have a few issues on ADM," she said.

ADM is average daily maintenance, which basically tracks the number of students in attendance. State funds are allocated based on each school district's attendance.

"We have to lower our budget by two kids," Ziemkowski said. "It's roughly about $8,000."

Ziemkowski said the budget revision must be done by Dec. 15.

The board meets in the district board room, Suite 2-G at 830 S. Main St. in Cottonwood.
