The Mingus Union boys basketball team dropped its final home game of the regular season against the Coconino Panthers, 42-36.

Mingus started out strong in the first quarter, outscoring the Panthers, 7-5 but in the second quarter it was Coconino with the momentum, scoring 19 points to Mingus' eight to lead at halftime, 24-15.

The Marauders didn't give up, they scored 15 points in the third quarter to Coconino's eight to come to within two points, trailing, 32-30.

The fourth quarter was a battle. Going shot for shot, the Marauders fell behind as the Panthers put up 10 points to Mingus' six for the win.

The Marauders will finish out their regular season schedule on Friday when they travel to Bradshaw Mountain to take on the Bears at 7 p.m.
