Mountain View United Methodist Church warmly welcomes the Rev. Michael Anderson and his wife Joyce to the Verde Valley.

For more than 20 years, they have looked forward to living in Cottonwood. Pastor Anderson has served at Christ UMC in Phoenix, Parker UMC in Parker, Chandler UMC in Chandler and most recently, Gila Mountain UMC in Yuma.

The Andersons were born and raised in Sheboygan, Wis. They have three sons and four grandchildren. Pastor Anderson enjoys gardening and has an interest in arts and crafts.

He served as a U.S. Navy corpsman in a Naval hospital for Vietnam evacuees. He completed training for therapeutic nuclear medicine and worked in that field for 10 years in Wisconsin and 10 years in Phoenix.

God called him into ministry in Phoenix.

Pastor Anderson's strengths are preaching, teaching and performing the duties of an administrator. His role of pastor is to be the spiritual leader and administrative officer of the church. He prefers using groups called ministry teams rather than secular committees within the church organization. Ministry teams are theologically based and work for the Glory of Christ as the head of the church.

Pastor and Mrs. Anderson are very happy to be here in the community and look forward to ministry as part of the Mountain View United Methodist Church family.
