The first ever Walkin' on Main festival will be Saturday in Old Town Cottonwood from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There's going to be some great art, music, wine and history.
The street will be blocked off for this event, which is designed to celebrate Historic SR 89A.
Music will entertain the crowd all day, with the headline act - Big Pete Pearson - on stage from 3 to 5 p.m. Pearson is often called the Phoenix BB King.
A huge tent, 40-feet-by-80-feet, will be the site of a juried art show. This might be the first time ever that all of the major artists' groups from Northern Arizona have been gathered at one place at the same time.
There will be 16 artists' organizations, two high schools and six individual artists displaying work.
Sedona artist R. Blaisdell Moore will be featured throughout the big tent.
A wine tasting event will be held at Crema Café, 917 N. Main St.
It is sponsored by Verde Valley winemakers and vineyards, including Alcantara Vineyards, Page Springs Cellars, Granite Creek Vineyards and the Jerome Winery.
Antique and classic automobiles will be on display, and local historical groups will have displays.
