This holiday season, don't just give a gift, change a life! How? By becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister or becoming a "Matchmaker."

Think back to when you were young. Who was that person that taught you how to ice skate? Or to ride a bike? Or just listened to your ideas and dreams? Every child should have someone like that in their life.

To make that happen, Big Brothers Big Sisters needs volunteers to step up and become a "Big." Just as important is the person that becomes a donor and underwrites the cost of a match. There are hundreds of boys and girls in the Verde Valley and Sedona just waiting to be matched with a Big Brother, Big Sister or Family. What can you do to help make that happen?

Meet Alex an outgoing 8-year-old who is in second grade. Alex has a great sense of humor and is talkative and enthusiastic. He likes to tell stories and jokes and gets along with everyone.

Alex is teaching himself to play guitar. He also likes playing basketball, riding his scooter and is interested in martial arts.

Alex does well in school but struggles with spelling. His favorite subject is science.

Hundreds of kids are waiting for a person like you to become their "Big." Or you can make a difference by helping underwriting a match.

It cost $1,000 annually to make and support one Big/Little match. This time of year, the State of Arizona's Tax Credit program makes it easy to donate $200 per individual or $400 per couple to Big Brothers Big Sisters, and it won't cost you a cent!
