I admit to be totally confused with John Bond's Wednesday letter. I wonder what Bible he is quoting.
He says, "In Matthew, chapter 5, verses 3-11, it states: "and goes onto quote those verses, seemingly from the King James Version. But he seems to include the next paragraph: "Blessed are the war-makers for they are the Glory of God:
Their sword of peace is tainted with the blood of God's enemies." either as a part of verse 11, or a new verse l2. This is not in my King James Bible, or any other Bible I have. Verse l2 is: "Rejoice and be exceeding glad; for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you."
If he wanted to say that President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech added this concept, he should have come right out and said it in plain English, not say that it is a part of Scripture.
