Cottonwood Chamber honors volunteers, businesses

COTTONWOOD -- Members and volunteers who have committed to the work of the Cottonwood/ Verde Valley Chamber of Commerce were honored Tuesday during the quarterly luncheon.

The luncheon drew a crowd of chamber members who packed the Verde Valley Guidance Center meeting room.

Lana Tolleson, acting CEO/president, who becomes the Chamber's permanent director July 1, announced the Ambassador of the Year award went to Dave Beach, who "is a team player in every way."

Craig and Glenda Atherton were presented the Volunteer Award for their continuing service.

The Chamber also distributed four Beautification Awards. One went to Taco Bell for this year's dramatic building upgrade.

An award was presented to the new Country Bank, accepted by Mark Tufte, vice-president and branch manager.

Attorney Justin Vaughn, Realtor Phil Terbel and Jim Perry, CPA, accepted the award for the neighboring Cottonwood Country Plaza. Richard Dehnert and Robert Cartia received the award for the new wing of the Verde Valley Guidance Center,that will combine psychiatric care with primary care and a pharmacy.

Casey Rooney of the Cottonwood Economic Development Council addressed the members on the city's Five Year Economic Plan for Cottonwood.
