Clarkdale candidate packets available

Two Clarkdale Town Council seats will be up for election on the March 9 ballot. Both seats are four-year terms. Candidate packets are available and may be picked up Monday through Thursday at town hall between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Seats held by Vice Mayor Jerry Wiley and councilman Curt Bohall are both up for election. Wiley has decided not to run for re-election, and Bohall has taken out an election packet and filed the necessary papers to begin collecting petition signatures.

Candidates must file a political committee statement of organization or a $500 threshold exemption statement with the town clerk before receiving or spending any money, circulating nomination petitions or distributing campaign literature. The completed packets must be returned to the town clerk between Nov. 9 and Dec. 9.

A candidate receiving a majority of all ballots cast in the primary election will be declared elected. Seats not filled during the primary will be on the general election ballot May 18.

Councilmembers-elect will take office during the regularly scheduled meeting June. 8.

Town Hall is located at 39 N. Ninth St.
