3-car accident makes mess on Sixth Street

COTTONWOOD - An accident Tuesday afternoon at Sixth Street and State Route 89A that was reported as a three-car head-on collision resulted in three people taken to the Verde Valley Medical Center. Two were reportedly in critical condition.

Cottonwood Police report that a sedan with an older couple was eastbound on 89A and turned left onto Sixth Street in the path of a white mid-sized SUV.

The impact of the two-car collision caused the sedan to spin 180 degrees and knock it across all lanes of traffic to crash into a third vehicle, a large SUV. The last vehicle was knocked into the parking lot of a game room business on the northwest corner.

The driver of the sedan suffered internal injuries while the passenger suffered neck and back injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle, the white SUV also was treated for neck and back injuries.
