Mingus school board to meet Thursday

COTTONWOOD - The Mingus Union High School District Governing Board will meet in regular session at 6:30 Thursday evening in the school cafeteria.

One item of interest that is not on the agenda is a report from Superintendent Tim Foist about what information the administration has turned over to authorities regarding misappropriation of funds by former teacher and head wrestling coach Tom Wokasch.

During the board's last meeting, board member James Ledbetter questioned Foist about what information had been submitted to authorities and what authorities had been notified concerning Wokasch. Ledbetter directed Foist to prepare the report for the board's meeting packets, but not to put the matter on the meeting agenda.

Agenda items for the Thursday meeting are mostly routine. New hires, resignations and terminations are listed under the consent agenda. Also listed under the consent agenda are extra duty stipends for department chairs for 10 departments at $915.19 each.

Under new business, the board will discuss and possibly take action to approve the intergovernmental agreement for coaches and substitutes between MUHS and Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District.

The board's next regular meeting will be Aug. 26, at 6:30 p.m.

The board meets at 1801 E. Fir St. in Cottonwood.
