Take that first step and volunteer to be a Big today!

Meet Emma … Emma is a very engaging, talkative 5-year-old. She started kindergarten this month and was very proud and excited about it.

Emma lives with her mom, stepdad, five siblings and her four stepbrothers. Her father passed away when she was only 2 years old.

Emma’s mother describes her as strong willed and very loveable. Emma likes to talk, likes to window shop and be with her family. She likes to play games, play outside with her siblings and neighbors, ride her bike and play basketball.

One of the things she is best at is drawing. But, she explains that drawing a dog is difficult for her. Emma says she knows a lot about are taking care of her baby dolls.

She is learning to ride a two-wheeled bike and is very proud of herself. Emma says she would like to be a hair cutter when she grows up and also drive around in a car.

Her mother would like to see Emma matched with a woman who is energetic and fun. She thinks it would be great if Emma had someone who could share her love of sports and outdoor activities.

But mostly, she would like Emma to be happy and excited about doing things with a Big Sister and enjoy being more active in and exploring the community.

Since their family is so large a one-to-one match would be best for Emma and would boost her confidence and self-esteem.
