Alleged burglar booked into jail

CLARKDALE - Early Sunday at about 2 a.m., Clarkdale Police Officer Nicole Florisi-Watson noticed suspicious activity at Lock and Roll Storage located at 1341 State Highway 89A in Clarkdale.

After questioning Christopher Todd Amundson, 26, of Cottonwood, he was arrested for burglary.

A search warrant was obtained for Amundson's Cottonwood apartment as well as a storage unit he rented.

Officers discovered a large amount of what appeared to be stolen property at both locations.

Clarkdale Police advise that the investigation is on-going.

Failure to yield

CAMP VERDE -- Camp Verde marshals deputies and fire emergency crews were dispatched Wednesday evening to a two-vehicle injury-accident at SR 260 and Old Church Road.

Front-seat passenger Rodney Olivier, 48, was injured and flown to a Phoenix Hospital where he was later released.

It was determined that 51-year-old Patricia Pease pulled out from Old Church Road and collided with a vehicle driven by 53-year-old Gregory Wolf.

Pease was issued a citation for failing to yield from a stop sign.

Another failure to yield

CAMP VERDE -- A three-vehicle collision Friday afternoon resulted in the injury of one driver at SR 260 and General Crook Trail in Camp Verde.

The investigation of the accident and statements from drivers and witnesses found that 52-year-old Mary McDowall, the driver of a Honda Accord, was stopped at the intersection of General Crook Trail and SR 260.

When the light turned green, she then turned right onto SR 260 into the path of a Hyundai Elantra driven by a 17-year-old girl.

The Hyundai veered to the left across both east-bound traffic lanes SR 260 and then crashed into a semi trailer.

A Freightliner tractor-trailer rig, driven by 53-year-old Enrique Gonzales, was westbound on SR 260 and in the left turn lane for General Crook Trail when hit by the Hyundai. The 17-year-old driver was cited.

McDowall was transported for injuries. Both drivers of the Hyundai driver and semi were uninjured.

And yet another

COTTONWOOD -- Cottonwood Fire was called to a three-vehicle crash at Fir and SR260 Monday morning, just before 8 a.m.

Fire officials say two vehicles suffered minor damage, but the third had moderate to severe front-end damage. The driver of that vehicle was taken to Verde Valley Medical Center for treatment.

Shot himself in the foot

CAMP VERDE -- A 30-year-old man is recovering from a gunfire injury Monday. Montezuma-Rimrock Fire crews were called after the man took a shotgun blast to the foot. The man reportedly had just stepped from his car on Forest Road 618, just off the Interstate, when his rifle discharged, striking his left foot. He was stabilized and transported to Flagstaff Medical Center for treatment.
