Arlene Mae Van Dine, 78, of Village of Oak Creek, died January 31, 2010. She was born October 26, 1931 in West Chester, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Helen and Charles Moyer.
Mrs. Van Dine worked in the restaurant industry all her life. She moved to the Verde Valley in 1984 where she continued to work as a cook in various restaurants until she became disabled. Her hobbies included cooking meals for her friends and family, playing games and enjoying her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Van Dine and her parents. Mrs. Van Dine leaves a daughter Jeanette (Dale) Midkiff of Camp Verde, AZ; a son Doug (Stacy) Erickson of Portland, OR; six grandchildren: Heather (Robert) German of Spokane, WA, Heath and Hannelee Midkiff of Camp Verde, AZ, Nick, Colton and Joey Erickson of Portland, OR; two great grandchildren: Allison and Jeshua German of Spokane, WA; a sister-in-law: Becky Van Dine of Glendale, AZ and four step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Monday, February 8, 2010 at Verde Valley Christian Church, 3605 Zalesky Road, Cottonwood at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Compassus, 70 Bell Rock Plaza, Suite A, Sedona, AZ 86351.
