Armed robbery at AM-PM second in 2 weeks

COTTONWOOD- A white man with a goatee held up the attendant of the AM-PM gas station and convenience store in Cottonwood Thursday night. The stickup follows by 12 days the armed robbery of the Woody's gas station on the opposite side of the highway.

On Thursday at approximately 9:45 p.m., the man entered the AM-PM store and the demanded money from the on-duty clerk. He brandished a black handgun. The suspect took the money, left the store and got into a white, four-door sedan and was gone.

The clerk was not injured during the robbery but cash was taken from the register. That amount has not been released.

A surveillance tape shows the suspect wearing a black baseball type hat, white button-up collared shirt, jeans and a black-and-white jacket with skull patterns. He had a red rubber band at the bottom of his goatee.

Police say the suspect also has a partial "sleeve" of tattoos on his left arm starting just above his wrist.

The investigation continues and anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Cottonwood Police Department Criminal Investigations Division or Yavapai County Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232.
