Crash Landing

A two-vehicle collision at the Willard and State Route 89A intersection Thursday morning slowed traffic and sent one woman to the hospital. Cottonwood Fire crews found a woman in the Toyota Prius had been T-boned by a pickup. The driver of the charcoal compact needed to be extracted from the crushed vehicle and reportedly suffering multiple injuries. She was packed with C-spine precautions and taken to Verde Valley Medical Center. One witness reported that after the light turned yellow the eastbound sedan was turning from the highway onto Willard and was struck in the side by the westbound pickup. VVN/Jon Pelletier
