James T. Long 1922 - 2010

James T. Long, 87, of Camp Verde died May 11. He was born November 12, 1922 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the son of Abram D. and Ella (Baldwin) Long.

He was a graduate of J. P. McCaskey High School and Millersville State College where he received his Bachelor Degree in Industrial Arts. He received a Masters degree from Texas A & M and Bachelor of Divinity from the Berkeley Baptist Divinity School. He served his country in the Navy during World War II.

Mr. Long held pastorates in California, Oregon and Montana. He was a missionary in the Philippines. He also worked as a shop teacher.

He was an avid reader who enjoyed woodworking, gardening, meeting people and travel.

He was preceded in death by a sister Vera Sprinkle.

He leaves his wife of 61 years, Gladys of Camp Verde; sons Timothy "Tim" (Laurie) of Tucson, Theodore "Ted" (Judy) of Camp Verde and Thomas "Tom" (Margie) of Santa Rosa, California; sister Doris Schafer (Robert) of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

No public services are planned.
