Lillian Sweeten 1918 - 2010

Lillian Baugher Sweeten, 92, of Camp Verde, AZ., a beautiful individual, left this world in peace to be received in the arms of her Lord Jesus Christ, October 13, 2010. She was at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born February 2, 1918 in Baltimore, MD, and moved to Glendale, Arizona in 1946, where her family lived until settling in Camp Verde in 1959. She was a three-time cancer survivor and lived with a passion of love and kindness for her family and servicing the Lord.

She was a certified LPN in Maryland at a home for incurables and when she married she became a stay at home wife, mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, hunting and camping, sewing and quilt making, being active in her family’s lives and teaching her Kindergarten Sunday School class at the Camp Verde United Methodist Church until she retired.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thorton Baugher, her late husband Dale Sweeten and her brother Bud, her daughter, Virginia and son, Chip. Lillian is survived by her sister Anna Frantum and by her children Trudy Skinner of Cle Elm, Wash., Anna Bailey (Alton) of Camp Verde, Ariz., David Baugher (Billie Jean) of Camp Verde, Ariz., and Mickie McCrockin (Bob) of Payson, Ariz.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren, her many nieces and nephews.

She will be missed by all those who met her, knew her, loved and cherished her. We, her family and friends will share many lively and happy memories of our precious time together. Services will be held at the Camp Verde United Methodist Church, 480 1st Street, October 21, 2010 at 10 a.m.
