Church cookbook part of silver anniversary

In recognition of its 25th anniversary, members of Verde Valley Presbyterian Church have compiled family-tested recipes from the congregation and friends into an attractive keepsake cookbook.

Titled “Feeding the Flock,” the cookbook contains over 200 well-loved recipes including veteran NFL football quarterback Brett Favre’s “Football Family Chili” and “Chili Verde” by Jackie Drinkwater, widow of Herb R. Drinkwater, a former Scottsdale councilman and mayor from 1980 to 1996. Recipes include appetizers, main dishes, desserts, and more, and feature the contributor’s name, enabling you to locate the special recipes of your family and friends.

Among the delicacies offered are monkey bread, fried ice-cream, earthquake cake and a rare recipe for red cake that originally came from a New York restaurant with a $1,000 price tag. It is available here for your dining pleasure!

Just in time for the holidays, these one-of-a-kind color cookbooks make great gifts for family, friends and coworkers. They are now available for a limited-time for only $15.95 each (postage for shipping is extra). These hardcover cookbooks can be purchased from members of the church or at Brandi’s Kitchen in Cottonwood. All proceeds will benefit the nonprofit Verde Valley Presbyterian Church in Cottonwood.
