Bent River Books & Music opens in Old Town

COTTONWOOD – Chris and Carla Wykoff have opened Bent River Books & Music at 1124 N. Main St. in Old Town Cottonwood.

The business will offer new and used books, used CDs and vinyl albums, gifts and a cup of coffee for $1.

“We try to offer affordable items,” Chris said, “but there is some higher-end stuff also. We also do special orders.”

Chris said he has been searching for some used vinyl and CDs for people. He and Carla also search for used books.

“We have collectable books and LPs,” Chris said.

Bent River also will feature local artists on a rotating basis.

Jessica Stafford works for Bent River and is an education specialist. Sarah Wagner also works in the store and is a science and lifestyle specialist.

Carla operates an online rare book business, which can be reached at bentriverbm.com.

Chris said he and Carla are both from Arizona. “We used to come up here as kids,” he said. The couple now lives in Clarkdale.

Chris said they hope to attract business from throughout the Verde Valley and Flagstaff as well as Prescott. Their mission is to provide a “warm and welcoming place to shop for quality merchandise, focusing on living artfully and green.”

Hours are 10 to 7 Tuesday through Friday, 10 to 8 on Saturday and 10 to 5 on Sunday. The bookstore is closed on Monday.
