Creative chefs of the Sedona area will unveil original chili recipes as they compete in the Great Sedona Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, May 7.
A special attraction of the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta at Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village, the Cook-Off is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Sedona with proceeds dedicated to the "End Polio Now" worldwide campaign.
Chefs from the Oak Creek Brewery & Grill, Rene at Tlaquepaque, Secret Garden Café, Ken's Creekside, Blue Moon Café, Cowboy Club and El Rincon have accepted the chili-cook-off challenge.
They will participate in two competitions on May 7; the "people's choice" award and the judge's award. Judges Mayor Rob Adams, Police Chief Ray Cota and Fire Chief Nizeh Hazime will select the outstanding chili and award the winning chef with a distinctive Great Sedona Chili trophy.
The chefs will provide samples of their special chili recipes at booths located on the Terrace at Tlaquepaque from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tasting will cost $5 for children under 12 and $10 for adults.
Proceeds will benefit Rotary International's goal of eradicating polio worldwide by 2014.
