The Red Rock Quilters dazzling quilt show "Quiltfest 2011" will be held on April 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in West Sedona outside at the Quilter's Store Sedona, 3075 W. 89A.

The many gorgeous quilts are hung from the sides of buildings, trees, racks and frames.

The Red Rock Quilters also have a Boutique area with a lot of handmade items and quilts for sale, plus quilting demonstrations.

In addition they have a custom designed southwest appliquéd Raffle Quilt to support service projects, which are numerous.

The Red Rock Quilters have been meeting and quilting for 24 years. There are 40 members with as many different talents. Some of the quilters are artists who express them selves through fabric.

Some of the Red Rock Quilters have won national awards and published patterns, written books and many teach classes in quilting.

Unlike other quilt shows, this is not juried. Quilters are showcasing their work for the sheer pleasure of sharing with others without any of the pressure that comes with competition.

The quilts reflect many different skill levels, and they represent techniques that range from patchwork to appliqué and fabric painting.

The Quilters encourage everyone to view the show with an information sheet that tells you the background history of the making of the quilt.
