Tolle film, more this week at Unity

It’s Movie Night again at Unity of Sedona on Friday, Aug. 12 at 7 p.m. The feature film is Awakening in the Now - an Eckhart Tolle film.

At a time when anxious thoughts of scarcity and lack often rule the day, Eckhart Tolle brings some liberating news: your greatest treasure can be found in the richness of the present moment. The film Awakening in the Now presents the bestselling author of “A New Earth” in an illuminating 110-minute encounter that will deepen your experience of pure presence, as you join Tolle to explore:

• Bringing vigilance to your inner state to embrace emotions with compassionate awareness

• Finding freedom from the ego and the conditioned mind that create the illusion of need

• How to align with the Now, the ultimate container of the many “forms that come and go”

• Awakening to the essence of yourself and others-the timeless truth of existence itself

• Looking for your identity in the past or for fulfillment in the future is madness.

Tolle explains, “If you want sanity, then the focus of your life must be the present moment.”

Awakening in the Now is your opportunity to begin a life without struggle, where the joy of being pervades your actions, and “A blessing lives through you.”

Tolle was born in Germany and educated at the Universities of London and Cambridge. At the age of 29 a profound inner transformation radically changed the course of his life. Today, Tolle is a sought-after public speaker who teaches and travels extensively throughout the world. His books include the No. 11 New York Times bestseller “The Power of Now” (translated into 33 languages) and the highly acclaimed follow-up “A New Earth” along with “Stillness Speaks” and “Practicing the Power of Now.”

Come be enlightened and uplifted. Admission is $10 at the door. For more information please call (928) 282-7181.

Join Unity Church of Sedona for Sunday service at 10 a.m. The service includes a time of guided meditation and community prayer.

Unity Church of Sedona’s message for Sunday, Aug. 14, is entitled “Scenarios and Soul Solutions.” Guest speaker is Unity member Elizabeth Taylor, who will be exploring the importance of recognizing the difference between mental “what if’s?” and the soul’s insights which bring vitality to the “Now.”

Taylor is the founder of Hope of the New Age, an organization created to support spiritual seekers through meditative retreats and Energy consultations. She has shared Spirit’s encouragement and insights in her books, “Living in Two Worlds,” “Wisdom” and “Lessons for Living.” Elizabeth is also a member of Unity of Sedona’s music ministry and participant in the Mystic Choir.

Women in the Circle of Mary Magdalene meet every second Saturday beginning Aug. 13 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Sanctuary and every fourth Tuesday beginning Aug. 23 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

This group of women focus their shared energies on the wisdom of Mary Magdalene to gain insight into the role of the sacred feminine in their own lives and to help them advance on their spiritual path.

The women have agreed to come together in a sisterhood of discovery and nurturance of our evolving understanding of the role of the divine feminine in order to come in balance and resonance with the divine masculine. This is intended to be an intensive exploration of the subject by conscious women dedicated to delving deeper and sharing wisdom beyond the elementary level of study from both sides of the veil. The circle is open to all sisters in the light.

They appreciate contributions of $5 to $10 to cover room rental, website and newsletter expenses and duplication of handouts and materials. Please visit their website:
