Orthopedic surgeon Brian Duggan, M.D., is the newest physician to join Verde Valley Orthopedic Associates, a service of Verde Valley Medical Center (VVMC). Dr. Duggan is accepting new patients, with office locations in Cottonwood, Sedona and Camp Verde. To make an appointment with Dr. Duggan, call 928 634-1112.

As an orthopedic surgeon, Duggan specializes in sports-related injuries. As such, he performs knee ligament reconstructions; hip arthroscopy; arthroscopic shoulder rotator cuff repairs; instability surgery of the shoulder; total shoulder replacements and reverse shoulder replacements; and total and partial hip and knee replacements. Having trained at Baltimore's Shock Trauma Center, Dr. Duggan has extensive knowledge in the treatment of orthopedic fracture of all extremities.

Duggan earned his medical degree with class honors from Wayne State University, Detroit, Mich. Before moving to Arizona, Dr. Duggan trained in Baltimore, Md.; Detroit, Mich.; and Lake Tahoe, Calif.  He completed a physician residency program in orthopedic surgery at the University of Maryland/Shock Trauma Center. Additionally, Dr. Duggan completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Barton Health, South Lake Tahoe, Calif. He has co-authored medical research articles for medical journals and presentations.

Duggan's personal interests include running, hiking with his dog and recording his own original music in his in-home music studio.
