Heroin and 'bath salts' found in motel bust

COTTONWOOD - Police went to a local motel early Monday morning to back-up Adult Probation, which was serving an arrest warrant. They found a number of drugs and helped with the arrests.

The warrant named 25-year-old Summer Armitage. Police contacted both Armitage and her husband, 28-year-old Michael Sandoval, in the motel room.

The observant officers also spotted numerous items considered drug paraphernalia, plus the designer drug dubbed "bath salts" plus a useable amount of heroin.

The couple was arrested and, during processing, officers found an additional 11.5 grams of heroin in Sandoval's pockets.

PANT was alerted and Cottonwood's K-9 Rio conducted a sniff of the couple's vehicle and alerted there. Officers found marijuana and additional paraphernalia in the car.

Sandoval was charged with possession of a narcotic, possession for sale of a narcotic, and possession of paraphernalia.

Armitage was charged with the probation violation warrant, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a narcotic, possession of marijuana and tampering with physical evidence.
