VOC home invasion robbery; suspect on the loose

VILLAGE OF OAK CREEK -- Just before 6 a.m. Monday morning, the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office was notified regarding a home invasion robbery in the Village of Oak Creek.

A man armed with a handgun and electric stun gun forced his way into a home on Apache Drive and demanded money from a husband and wife in their 60s. The home is a couple blocks southeast of Bell Rock Blvd and east of SR 179.

The couple did not hear a vehicle after the man fled.

Yavapai Sheriff's deputies and detectives saturated the area in pursuit of the suspect. The agency is asking that people stay out of the area as deputies continue their search.

The wanted man is described as Mexican or Caucasian, between 30 and 40 years old. He has a husky build and is about 5-feet 7-inches tall. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing some material over a portion of his face.

The suspect was wearing a black wool plaid jacket, black belt and carries a black backpack.
