On the Road Again in Cottonwood

Cottonwood City Councilman Tim Elinski led bicyclists, many from the Verde Valley Cyclist Coalition, from Viejo Park in Cottonwood to the City Hall building on Main Street on Friday morning as part of National Bicycle Awareness Month. The event, called the Mayor's Bike Ride, is intended to raise awareness and lend support to bicyclists sharing the road with automobiles. Cottonwood received an honorable mention as a "bike friendly community" this year from the League of American Bicyclists, the 120-year-old organization that sponsors National Bicycle Awareness Month.
